[ Kloshe Nanitch Lookout ]
[ Kloshe Nanitch, Olympic National Forest ]

Perched on a craggy point with spectacular views of the surrounding area, this reconstructed fire lookout is a replica of the structure used to spot forest fires in the 1920's. The area provides spectacular views of Lake Crescent, Mt. Olympus, Lake Pleasant and the Sol Duc Valley. The site and trails are currently under development. Ample parking, picnic tables, vault toilet and garbage facilites are available, no water though. Great place to view most of the peaks in the western Olympic Mountains.

Vehicle access via Forest Service Road 3040 behind Snider Work Center. This site is accessed by 7 miles of ONE-LANE gravel road with turnouts. It requires skilled backroad driving and is not suitable for trailers or motorhomes.

Motto: Kloshe Nanitch (Keep a good lookout or ever watch)
